WindEnergy Asia-Pacific is gathering pace: The next top-flight event for the global wind community following WindEnergy Hamburg, the wind energy industry’s international flagship fair from 22 to 25 September 2026, is already in the making: WindEnergy Asia-Pacific powered by RECHARGE in Singapore from 25 to 27 May takes the successful collaboration between the team of Hamburg Messe und Congress and RECHARGE, the industry’s leading news publication from DN Media Group, to the next round. Once again the organisers enjoy the support of two local government agencies, Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). The event has relocated to a new venue, the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre. Around 100 exhibiting companies and organisations will showcase products and services to an expected 2.500 industry visitors. The exhibition runs in parallel with a conference programme featuring over 60 top-flight speakers.
Combining forces for dynamic growth
With innovations, investments and international collaboration on the agenda, the event will address the industry’s core topics, whether at networking opportunities such as the Wine o’clock gatherings every night, or in keynote speeches and panel discussions. “This exchange, especially on subjects such as grid expansion and energy storage technologies, is essential for a successful energy transition,” explains Claus Ulrich Selbach, Vice President Exhibitions Maritime & Energy at Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC). “WindEnergy Asia-Pacific is the perfect platform for this: As a strategic gateway and leading financial hub for the region, Singapore provides an ideal environment to bring together decision-makers from politics, business and science and connect the industry with potential financing partners.”
The wind energy and energy storage technologies market in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC) is growing rapidly. For example, for the offshore segment, GlobalData analysts are expecting an investment volume of 130 bn euros by the year 2030, nearly twice the current level. Vietnam’s Energy Development Plan VIII (PDP8), for instance, defines ambitious goals for offshore wind: by 2030, the country wants to add to 17 GW, and by 2050 as much as 139 GW of generation capacity. Other nations across the region are likewise banking on wind energy to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and drive climate protection.
Exploring market opportunities, building knowledge
This is the core element of the regional agenda governments agreed on in early July. At a conference convened by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in Bangkok, they jointly adopted the Ministerial Declaration on Environment and Development in Asia and the Pacific, 2026. The document encourages the countries to better align their policies, financing schemes and institutions to accelerate the implementation of global and regional environmental commitments. The new agenda is rooted in the increasing dynamic of the region. 39 ESCAP member states have adopted CO₂ neutrality or zero-emission goals.
So what are the political and economic conditions, and what market trends are discernible? The expo and conference on 25 and 26 May will be an opportunity for stakeholders from Asia-Pacific and European companies to immerse themselves into the subject, establish new business ties and develop existing ones.
As an extra benefit, a third day has been added to the event: “On 27 May 2027, we will offer our participants first-rate technical seminars und excursions within the metropolis of Singapore, delivering true added value,” says Andreas Arnheim, Director WindEnergy Hamburg & WindEnergy Asia-Pacific at HMC. This underlines the trade fair organisers’ ambition to provide innovative event formats that drive information-sharing across the industry.

Europe meets Asia-Pacific: The power of intercontinental collaboration is also evident in the active involvement of strong partners, such as the Asia Wind Energy Association AWEA, the World Wind Energy Association WWEA, the World Forum Offshore Wind, VDMA – Europe biggest equipment engineering industry association, Bundesverband WindEnergie e.V. (BWE), the Association of Singapore Marine and Offshore Energy Industries (ASMI), and other national associations.
“The concept is being extremely well received. It provides a centralised platform for the dialogue between European and Asian stakeholders, and we want to develop it further,” says Claus Ulrich Selbach. September 2028 will see the next return of the world’s leading wind industry fair, WindEnergy Hamburg. And in May 2029, the community will meet in Singapore again for WindEnergy Asia-Pacific powered by RECHARGE.
