To make the mobility transition a success, it is necessary to create an appropriate legal, regulatory and operational framework. These vehicles must become part of our everyday reality and be present on our streets. We are pleased to provide the industry with the Autonomous Mobility & Law Summit as a platform for discussion and networking that will help accelerate approval processes and make Hamburg a pioneer of autonomous mobility. I am looking forward to welcoming many notable speakers,” said Heiko M. Stutzinger, CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress.
The Autonomous Mobility & Law Summit enjoys broad support from Hamburg’s policymakers. Dr. Anjes Tjarks, Hamburg Senator for Traffic and the Mobility Transition who will be among the speakers at the Autonomous Mobility & Law Summit, emphasised the city’s special role: “By hosting the Autonomous Mobility & Law Summit, we are writing the next chapter of Hamburg’s success story of international mobility congresses. For the first time, we will not only discuss technologies or visions but the entire ecosystem, from vehicles to the legal framework, and through to real-life operation in our cities. Once more, this makes Hamburg a source of inspiration for the mobility transition in Europe.”
The official welcome on Tuesday morning, moderated by Dr. Janett Fahrenholz, Head of Regulatory Law at Volkswagen AG, will be followed by the opening keynote address “Current Pathways to Road Traffic Automation – Opportunities and Challenges” by Richard Damm, President of the Federal Authority for Motorised Traffic and Chairman of the UNECE Working Party on Automated/Autonomous and Connected Vehicles (GRVA). The ensuing programme will include keynote speeches and discussion panels involving Prof. Dr. Anne Paschke who teaches Public, Technology and Digitalisation Law at Braunschweig Technical University and is Head of the Mobility Law Research Unit, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roman Henze, Head of the Vehicle Technology Institute (IfF) at Braunschweig Technical University, among others. On the second day of the event, Dr. Anjes Tjarks will deliver a keynote address. The comprehensive agenda will be supplemented by an exhibition as well as networking opportunities.
