The Global Security and Innovation Summit (GSIS)
and the Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP) in Washington are extending their
collaboration. The US-based think tank will continue to support GSIS in 2026 as a partner
and sponsor. The joint objective is to further deepen the transatlantic exchange on key
technologies at the intersection of innovation, security and geopolitical competitiveness.
Transatlantic exchange on strategic technologies
GSIS brings together decision-makers from government, technology, industry and strategic
research to discuss central questions shaping the future of security and technological
development. The renewed partnership with SCSP particularly strengthens transatlantic
cooperation between Europe and the United States on the thematic priorities embedded in
the GSIS 2026 programme — including artificial intelligence and quantum technologies, space,
critical infrastructure, energy and resource security, as well as innovation-driven financing
models.
As an international discussion forum, GSIS combines a high-level security policy conference
with a curated exhibition on technology and innovation. This dual approach bridges a gap
between traditional security-policy forums and conventional defence or industry exhibitions,
enabling an integrated exchange on security-relevant emerging technologies.
Statements
"In an era of intensifying strategic competition, transatlantic unity is not merely a diplomatic
preference—it is a strategic necessity. To prevail in the face of disruptive emerging
technologies, we must consolidate our collective advantages. Our collaboration with GSIS
remains a vital pillar in this effort. We are committed to a sustained, high-level dialogue
between the United States and our European allies to secure our technological edge, fortify
our common security, and ensure that the future of global innovation is written by free and
open societies."
Ylli Bajraktari, President and CEO, Special Competitive Studies Project
“Our partnership with SCSP underlines how closely geopolitics, technology and innovation
are now intertwined. At a time of growing strategic competition, GSIS provides a platform to
connect leaders from Washington and Europe across policy, industry and the strategic
community — not only to exchange ideas, but to help shape a shared transatlantic agenda
for security, technological leadership and innovation.”
Dimitrios Argirakos, Executive Chair, Global Security and Innovation Summit
GSIS international: Engagement in Washington
As part of the partnership, GSIS will be present this spring at the AI+ Expo in Washington,
where it will deepen exchanges with representatives from politics, technology companies and
strategic think tanks. This international presence contributes to the long-term development
of GSIS into a year-round platform for debate on security, innovation and technological
transformation.
